John M. Gist is The Red Wheelbarrow Review’s editor-in-chief and publisher. He is an award-winning author. His nonfiction and fiction has appeared in publications such as St. Austin Review, Galway Review, Crisis, Academic Questions, New Oxford Review, Concho River Review, The Doctor T.J. Eckelberg Review, Left Curve, Pithead Poetry Pacific, RiverSedge, Sand Hill Review, Stoneboat, South Loop Review, Spilt Infinitive, Spittoon, Superstition Review, The Agonist, The Fiddleback, and many others. Gist is the author of three novels and co-author of the philosophical nonfiction work Angst and Evolution. His novel Lizard Dreaming of Birds (2004) was shortlisted for Otterbein University’s Common Book Program (2005). Gist was the runner-up in South Loop Review’s national essay contest judged by New York Times best-selling author David Shields (2014). He was named finalist in the Tucson Book Festival Literary Awards competition for his creative nonfiction piece “Hawk and Diver” (2015). He earned an M.F.A from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gist has over a decade of teaching experience at the university level. He’s currently working on a number of book and screenwriting projects.

Wendy Gist is a copywriter, freelance writer/editor, journal/magazine editor, Nana among other things. Gist has worked as a professional contributing writer for many leading publications including Better Nutrition, Caribbean Travel and Life, eDiets, New Mexico Magazine, Pilates Style, Today’s Diet and Nutrition, and numerous others (national and international).
